Ultrasounds
An obstetrical ultrasound is an exam that is performed during the pregnancy to insure the proper growth and well-being of the fetus.

We encourage our patients to opt for the Harmony fetal DNA test, recognized for its robustness, accuracy and reliability rate of 99.9%.

Performable from 10 weeks of pregnancy, Harmony is today the reference in non-invasive prenatal screening.

Dating / viability

The dating or viability ultrasound can determine gestational age (the number of weeks pregnant) with more precision than using the date of the last menstrual period. It is performed from the 10th week of gestation.

1st Trimester - Nuchal Translucency

Performed between 11 weeks + 4 days and 13 weeks + 6 days to assess risk for major chromosomic abnormalities. The examination allows a measurement of nuchal translucency and verifies the presence of the nasal bone and major malformations.

2nd Trimester - Morphology

This is performed between 20 and 22 weeks to assess the fetal anatomy by examining the head, thorax, abdomen, spine, and limbs. If the position of the baby allows it, it may be possible to determine its sex.

3rd Trimester - Growth

Aims to monitor the baby's well-being by performing a fetal biophysical profile. Body and respiratory movements, tone, amniotic fluid, and placenta are examined. An estimate of the baby's weight is made. This ultrasound is performed between weeks 32 and 34 of pregnancy.
