Dr. Lapensée is an obstetrician gynecologist and clinical assistant professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Université de Montréal since 1996. In 1994, she completed a specialization in reproductive endocrinology and infertility at Massachusetts General Hospital, affiliated with Harvard University in Boston. She pursued a second year of specialization in basic research and laparoscopic surgery in the field of reproduction at the Université de Montréal, where she completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology from 1989 to 1994. She obtained a medical degree from Université Laval in 1989 and had previously studied biology at the University of Ottawa and université de Montréal. She was an obstetrician gynecologist at the Centre hospitalier de l'Université de Montréal (CHUM) from 1996 to 2020.
She has been very active in the field of obstetrics and gynecology research since 1997. In addition, she has published more than thirty articles in specialized magazines, has been co-author of two book chapters and has written about forty executive summaries. She has given a hundred lectures in Canada and the United States. His areas of interest other than in vitro fertilization are laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgery as well as the treatment of uterine fibroids.
Dr. Lapensée is one of the 5 founding members of the clinique ovo in 2003. She is also medical director of ovo academy.
