Originally from Montreal, Dr. Petrella completed his training in urological surgery at McGill University before pursuing a fellowship in andrology and male fertility at the University of Miami. He also underwent world-renowned microsurgery training at Cornell University.

He has been recognized with awards for leadership, teaching, and research at McGill. He is the author of numerous publications, textbook chapters, and scientific articles, contributing to advancing knowledge in his field.
