Simon Phillips is the Regional Scientific Director and Chief embryologist. He graduated from the University of Plymouth in England in 1992 and has subsequently obtained a master’s degree in Clinical Embryology at the University of Leeds and a PhD from Portsmouth University. He completed his embryology training at the Hallam Medical Center, London, in the laboratory of Professor Robert Edwards. He is certified by the Canadian Fertility and Andrology Society as an Embryology Laboratory Director.
He holds the position of clinical lecturer at the University of Montreal in the department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Simon is a member of the Canadian Fertility and Andrology Society (CFAS) and ASRM. He was a member of the CFAS ART Lab SIG Professional Standards sub-committee which was responsible for the creation of Canadian national standards for ART laboratory professionals in the field of medically assisted procreation as well as the CFAS certification programme. He has sat on the Board of the CFAS for several years and currently serves as the President.
